Look, for me it is not really the "year-" it's the genra. Gen X gsve rise to Eminem, who is one of the greatest rap artists of all time. All his music had Gen X written all over it.

If there was a band today in 2025 that could create music like Journey, ACDC, Erik B and Rakim, Run DMC, or even country music like Kenny Rogers , Juice Newton, Charlie Pride, Alabama… I would still consider it Gen X-ish. But nowadays most music is not much storytelling or does not have the emotional connection that we had.
